Why do leaves change colour?
Most of the amazing colour compounds we see during autumn are always there in the leaf but we can't see them. This is because the chlorophyll is so strong and green it cancels the other colours out. As the tree prepares to drop its leaves the chlorophyll disappears allowing the other colours to be seen. Its like turning down the loud lead singer to listen to the rest of the band.
A4 watercolour (some white calligraphy ink might be used too).
